I was inspired by my husband who was in the Royal Navy and sailed over the Mariana Trench numerous times and has also swum over it. There are so many creatures in its depths never before seen, waiting to be discovered; it is so exciting when a new species comes to light. The words of a marine biologist, Paul V R Snelgrove, are attached at the bottom of the quilt to describe this situation perfectly.
Confetti method with small pieces of material laid on top of wadding until it is covered; tulle net is placed on top then free machine quilted to keep everything in place.
