This page gives the dimensions of each year's quilts with a sample for each year.
2011 10" square
Months 1-4: circles
Months 5 - 8: text Months 9-12: buttons |
2012 A4
1st Part to include at least 75% red,
2nd Part to include at least 75% yellow 3rd Part to include at least 75% blue |
2013 12" x 8"
All 12 months had to be on a theme chosen by the member

2014 8" square
Each piece had to include a line which entered on one side and exited on another.

2017
A theme was to be chosen by the artist at the start of the challenge. Each JQ had to be submitted with a brief description of the inspiration for the JQ and the materials and techniques used. 11”x11”

2018
12 quilts, each 7 x 9” in landscape format.

2019
A specific set of requirements was imposed for each group of four. The first set, January to April, focused on sewing techniques. The second set of four JQs required the use of fabric other than cotton. The last four JQs required the background to be made using a different technique.

2020
A ‘green theme’. The requirement was to make 12 JQs each of which should include an element that had had a ‘former life’. The size set was 9” square (23cm).

2021
Joined Up Quilting.
In a shape of the artist's choosing. Maximum 12", minimum 6" in any direction. At the end of the year the aim was that all 12 would all be joined together. |
2022
Curvaceous!
Embrace your curves. Each JQ should have at least one curve somewhere and be no bigger than 12"x12" and any shape. |
2023
Inspired by Words
The challenge is to make journal quilts inspired by words. Maximum size 12"x12". |
2024
Hidden
The current JQ challenge is the theme ‘Hidden’. 11 of these JQs can be any size you wish as long as no side exceeds 12”(30.5cm). So you could have a square 11”x11” or a rectangle 8”x6”.
