UNSEEN FORCES - FRAGMENTATION
Inspiration
Continuing my series considering the forces that shape our coast: human development brings an ever-increasing demand for more housing, more sea defences, more leisure and entertainment facilities, more transport links and other supporting infrastructure.
What price to the species suffering fragmentation of precious habitats, divided from the resources they need to survive?
There must surely be a balance to be struck allowing us all to share the planet - a challenge for policy-makers and individuals alike.
Materials and techniques
Artist’s own hand dyed and printed cotton and linen fabric. Screen, rust and eco-printing. Colour discharge. Hand and machine quilting.
