Cross Patch

My breakthrough came when I finally realized that I disliked the colour of several log-cabin blocks, made a long while ago and brought out periodically for a fresh look.

I discharged the blocks, liked them better, and used them in classes to demonstrate the piecing of the crosses.  Having fused them to the background, I felt that I needed to echo the cross theme in the quilting, and to that end I decided to embroider the background with cross stitches.
