CHILDHOOD MEMORIES
Inspiration
The Bloomfield Coverlet evoked memories of my childhood, watching my father at his workbench repairing Radios for our friends. His boxes of glass valves, coils of wires and brightly coloured resistors fascinated me. Even today so many years later the smell of a soldering iron takes me back to
those days in the 1950s.
In retirement he was a member of the Royal Signals Amateur Radio Group and spoke to people all over the world with his call sign G30EK.
Materials and techniques
Cotton, felt, organza
Fabric paints, oil paintsticks
Stencilling
Machine embroidery, applique and quilting
