Wikipedia says ‘The Thin Blue Line is a colloquial term for police and suggests that a thin blue line of police officers is all that prevents civilized society from descending into chaos.’
 
My thin blue line of buttonholes and regimented beads represents a line of uniformed police standing to attention.  Quilted words tell of the dangers they face every day in the course of their work.
