Journal Quilts
Each January, members are invited to commit to making one small quilt each month for the whole year. This challenge has been running since 2007. The format changes each year to add interest. This year the format is A4 in landscape or portrait.

A proportion of the quilts are shown at various quilt shows, most recently in Manchester, Glasgow , Birmingham, and London.

Challenges and Exhibitions
There are regular challenges offered to members leading to exhibitions. The 2018 - 2019 challenge theme is a combined challenge together with the other specialist groups of the Quilters' Guild based on a quilt from the Guild collection Edwin and Mary Bloomfield Coverlet . Summer School
Each year Contemporary Quilt organizes one weekend workshop for members. A retreat is held at the same time for members wishing to find time and space to work on their own projects.
Contemporary Quilt Regional Groups
Our membership is very widely spread and, indeed, we have a number of international members. Several areas have formed regional groups to provide opportunities for members to meet up and share their expertise and talents.
