Lava Flow

This quilt indicates my personal breakthrough from rules and regulations.  I love the freedom of rough or raw edges.  I also like drawing with thread and the contrast between the delicate silk and the rough linen thread from japan.  The literal breakthrough is in the linen ties coming through from the middle layers.

Materials: Linen, cotton, felt.  Silk, cotton and rough linen thread.
Techniques: Punched, discharged and stitched with knots.
