You Can't Put a Hole Where a Hole Don't Belong
I had been toying with the idea of making a quilt with apertures. I felt the breaking through of one surface to view another and then another fitted the theme of the challenge. When I made the hanging I had come up with a title for it. After much thought I remembered the song Hole in the Ground, sung by Bernard Cribbens (you can find it at www.youtube.com).
Machine work, with large stitching done by hand. I used home dyed fabric plus commercial fabrics, some from Nepal. I was reluctant to stitch the three layers together but had to to satisfy the rules of the challenge. Back |
