77 eligible quilts were received for CQ’s 20th Anniversary Invitation to Exhibit – Uncharted. This was an unprecedented number of submissions compared with previous CQ Challenges.
The quilts have been juried by our two judges Jean Meyers and Merrill Tanton, who selected 35 for exhibition in the CQ Gallery at the Festival of Quilts 2022. A further 15 were selected as reserves if space allows. The quality of the quilts submitted was so high that the judges recommended that, if possible, all the other quilts should be shown as part of the Uncharted touring exhibition. We will do our best to ensure that each quilt is exhibited at least once during the 2022 celebrations of CQ’s 20th Anniversary, and post details on this website and the CQ Facebook page. The quilts will then go on to be exhibited at ICHF shows from autumn 2022 – summer 2023. All quilts have been professionally photographed and a catalogue has been prepared by Annie Henderson-Begg and Maggie Jarman, which will be on sale for £10. The samples and artists’ statements submitted with the quilts are being made into books by Janine Pound and will be ready for viewing at the first exhibition of Uncharted at Quiltfest 2022 |
