Falling Through the Cracks
As a child I never walked on the cracks in the pavement. My extremely superstitious mother and I used to walk together avoiding the cracks, her striding normally and me running and jumping alongside her. Subsequently I used to dream about stepping on those cracks and falling into a hot and fiery place, again my mother’s influence of the idea of heaven ‘above’ and hell ‘down below’. This piece is a visual interpretation of that dream.
