It's Out of Line
The inspiration for It’s Out of Line came from my visit to the Turbine Hall Tate Modern, the former Bankside Power Station in London to see Shibboleth by Doris Salcedo, a long snaking crack down the vast length of the Turbine Hall. I viewed it as a line across a walkway or pavement. Two men are discussing its merits and meaning.
The fabric is machined onto batting then attached to backing, and a sleeve, turned inside out, then the angular line appliquéd onto it. Back |
