CQ Challenge for 2025 - Pathways
We thought members might appreciate an early notification of the subject for our next CQ Challenge.
This will have the theme of Pathways. In case you are not familiar with the CQ Challenge it is a juried event open to all CQ members. The chosen quilts are exhibited at various locations in the UK in the subsequent two years, 2026 and 2027. It's a wonderful opportunity to show your work and promote CQ. So we are giving you time to think about the subject, contemplate your design, discuss with fellow quilters and decide if you are going to jump in and take up the challenge. The entry form, rules of entry and key dates will be published in our December edition of the CQ Newsletter. You can choose to interpret Pathways however you wish. If you need a little help with your thought processes here are a few definitions for pathways:
Quilts can be portrait, landscape or square but must be a minimum of 55cm x 55cm and a maximum of 100cm in any one direction and with any size in between. So it could be a square of 55cm x55cm, a rectangle of 100cm x 55cm, a square of 70cm x 70cm, a rectangle of 70cm x 100cm etc etc. Plenty of options - just not smaller than 55cm x 55cm, or larger than 100cm x 100cm. It is worth considering your size choice carefully as in the event your piece is not selected by the judges you may wish to enter it into the FoQ. If entering a quilt into FoQ it must have one dimension (either height or width) of at least 1 metre. Jane Falls [email protected] |
